Sunday, October 8, 2023 – 10:30 a.m. – “Being a Force of Peace in a Fractured World” – Rev. Dr. Larry Peers

As part of Delaware Peace Week, we will join hundreds of others across our state to focus on what we can do to be a force for peace. Drawing upon some of the practical insights from Valarie Kaur, a renowned Sikh activist, filmmaker, and civil rights lawyer—we will seek how to be a force of peace that extends in three directions: to others, to our opponents, and ourselves. Children are invited to the first part of the service, including a story for all ages.
Rev. Dr. Larry Peers is the minister at First Unitarian Church of Wilmington. In addition to ministry, he has worked with organizations and their leaders across many faith traditions in the areas of change and conflict transformation. He was a visiting professor teaching “Peacemaking and Religious Leadership” at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace.
