Every year we mark the start of the new church/school year with a special whole church worship service (sometimes even a potluck or other event). We often celebrate the uniquely Unitarian Universalist tradition of Water Communion. Last year we honored members celebrating 10, 25, or 50 years of membership. This year, we face the start of the church/school year online, but the power of our community is still very much felt. Join us as we use this threshold time to find our way to renewal and inspiration.
On September 13, our 100% of our Special Offering will be donated to Peace Week Delaware. Please give generously to help promote peace and justice in our wider community.
Please also send a video or photo of you (including anyone and everyone in your household…pets are welcome too!) that shows you/them offering a nonverbal greeting or welcome. With mask-wearing and social-distancing in place, we are all developing new nonverbal greetings (a wave, an air hug, a bow, blowing a kiss, etc…). What is your creative way of saying “hello, it is good to see you”? Be sure to include names with your submissions. Share your smile and your nonverbal greeting in a photo or short video by sending to connection@firstuuwilm.org by Sunday, September 6. Please help us spread some cheer by sending your video or photo!
