Julie and her husband, George Huhn, have been members of the First Unitarian Church for close to 20 years. Prior to joining the church, Julie was active in the Quaker community and a number of social justice efforts focused on race relations. The Children and Youth Religious Exploration (CYRE) program has been Julie’s main focus at First U. Having had two children in CYRE, and as a parent volunteer, she recognizes the substantial impact of a strong program on the lives of the children. She also appreciates how effective CYRE has been in building community among families. These are meaningful, lifelong connections. She and her family are deeply grateful to be part of the loving and supportive church community. Julie brings professional experience in equity, diversity and inclusion, and organizational development in higher education to the search process.
