Marty was born in Brooklyn in 1941. He moved to Queens when he was ten and developed a lifelong joy of gardening. Marty married Eloise, the girl a block away, and has nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He has been a UU at different congregations for over forty years, during which he served as a RE Chair, Board President, member of a search committee for a new minister and chair of the committee to revise the by-laws. Eloise and Marty have been members of First Unitarian Church of Wilmington for nine years, where he has been an usher, a member of Building and Grounds Team and several Small Group Circles.
