Vivian Gray

Vivian has been a Unitarian since 5th grade, attending the Fairfax Unitarian Church in Oakton, VA. For about 10 years, she was a member of the Seneca Valley Fellowship, in Gaithersburg, MD, where, in the 80’s, she served in many leadership roles including Board Chair. Vivian joined First Unitarian Church about 10 years ago and spent most of these years involved in the Denominational Growth Committee. Activities of this committee include membership in the Delmarva Cluster and promoting the Grants for Growth program. She is the contact for the Soul Matters connection circle for the UU Cokesbury group.
When she joined First Unitarian, David Sheppard involved her in the Delmarva Cluster and since she had experience in small congregations, this was a perfect fit. Several years ago, he said she should serve on the First Unitarian Board, so one reason she has agreed to be nominated for the Board is in his memory. Vivian’s hobbies include birdwatching and travel. She frequently travels to a family home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Orange, VA. She has two children that have families, including 4 grandchildren. Time spent with these grandchildren is a favorite pastime. Professionally, Vivian is a chemist, self-employed, with a consulting business in the area of
pharmaceutical analytical drug testing. She also publishes a small niche journal called Dissolution Technologies.
